Difficulty rating

Consistent walking with a light day pack (18-20L) for up to one hour without a break. The incline will not exceed 20 degrees.  The trail will be relatively flat dirt and gravel with a few sections of open rock slab.

Consistent walking with a light day pack (18-20L) for up to two hours without a break. The incline will be variable between 20 and 45 degrees. The trail will be more rocky with potentially longer sections of rock slab and small stream crossings.

Consistent walking with a multi-day pack (30-45L) for up to two hours without a break. The incline will be steep between 45 and 60 degrees. The trail potentially will have sections of exposed non-technical scrambling using both hands and feet.

Consistent scrambling and climbing with a multi-day pack (30-45L) for longer periods of time three to five hours without a break. The incline will be very steep with the potential for sections of vertical 60-90 degrees. Trail conditions will change depending on type of trip (snow/glacier, rock, dirt).

Trek through the beautiful Hinku Valley to the top of Mera peak (6476m) stopping at villages and staying at tea houses along the way

  • Day 1 – pick up at Kathmandu airport
  • Day 2 –  Kathmandu tour; spend the morning touring around the city visiting Swayambhu “The Monkey Temple” and Durbar square, have lunch as a group then spend the afternoon checking out the   shops. We will have a great dinner before we turn in for the night to per-pair for the trek
  • Day3 – The start of the trip will be an adventurous Jeep ride through Nepal to the village of Phaplu.
  • Day 4 – The first day of trekking; we will trek from Phaplu to the village of Taksindu
  • Day 5 – Trek from Taksindu to Karikola crossing the Dudh Koshi
  • Day 6 – Trek from Karikola to Sibuje
  • Day 7 – Trek from Sibuje to Chhetra Khola
  • Day 8 – Trek from Chhetra Khola to Kothe
  • Day 9 – Rest day in Kothe
  • Day 10 – Trek from Kothe to Tangnag
  • Day 11 – Rest day in Tangnag
  • Day 12 – Trek from Tangnag to Khare
  • Day 13 – Rest day at Khare
  • Day 14 – Climb from Khare to High camp
  • Day 15 – Summit day Climb from High Camp to Summit and descend from the summit down to Khare
  • Day 16 – Trek from Khare to Tangnag
  • Day 17 – Rest day in Tangnag
  • Day 18 – Trek from Tangnag to Kothe
  • Day 19 – Trek from Kothe to Thuli Kharka
  • Day 20 – Trek from Thuli Kharka to Chutang
